Virtual
Chicago
For
almost a century, ever since Mandel Hall opened in 1903, locals
have been able to experience professional classical music performance
without leaving Hyde Park. Today, with performances in Mandel
Hall still going strong, fans can view concert information and
schedules and even buy tickets without leaving their own homes.
At chicagopresents.uchicago.edu, the new Web site
of The University of Chicago Presents, the organization that produces
the myriad of Mandel Hall performances, Hyde Parkers and visitors
from beyond can find out all they need to know about upcoming
music events such as the Chamber Music Series, the Howard Mayer
Brown International Early Music Series, and the Regents Park Discovery
Concert. The site includes biographical information about artists
performing during the season, links to artist Web sites, photos
of performances, and programs for each concert. -C.S.
