Alumni
nominations sought
The
University of Chicago Alumni Association is seeking nominations
of alumni to serve on its Board of Governors, a 25-member group
that sets policy for the association and advises the University
on a range of issues.
We
are looking for candidates with a demonstrated commitment to the
University and a history of involvement in alumni activities.
To ensure a board as fully representative of the alumni body as
possible, the Nominating Committee will also consider demographic
factors such as age, gender, race, academic affiliation, and geographic
location.
Board
members attend meetings twice a year in Chicago, serve on board
committees and task forces, and act as representatives of the
U of C in their communities. Members elected at the board's April
meeting will serve a three-year term beginning on July 1, 2001.
If
you would like to nominate an individual for board membership,
please send us one or two paragraphs describing your nominee,
summarizing his/her involvement with the University, and indicating
any special talents or expertise the person would bring to the
Alumni Association leadership. The deadline for nominations is
February 15, 2001.
Please
submit your nominations via mail, fax, or e-mail to: Nominating
and Membership Committee, University of Chicago Alumni Association,
1313 E. 60th Street, Chicago, IL 60637; fax: 773/702-2166; e-mail:
