Blossoming Botany Pond
Inspired by a 1910 postcard, landscapers this
summer restored Botany Pond to its former lush feel. The first phase
of the two-year, $180,000 project (a gift from Parker, X’54,
and Julie Hall) is complete, as azaleas, pickerelweed, iris, lily
of the valley, a Japanese maple, and sod fill the area. Two bald
cypress were planted in the pond, another two on dry land, and three
lamps provide nighttime light.—S.I.A.
