In January, he became a writer and editor at OmniTech Consulting Group in downtown Chicago. Noting that many of the principals teach at the GSB, he writes, "Directly across from my office doorway, hanging there like a mezuzah, is a framed print of the University's campus." During 1997, Renee Tsai Ziegenfus, AB'91, moved from "the Windy City, to the City of Angels, to the Big Apple." She also graduated from Northwestern University's Kellogg School, played beach volleyball, worked in corporate finance for Price Waterhouse, and got married. The wedding was attended by many U of C alums who "danced up a storm." Ziegenfus adds, "I did not make my bridesmaids, Cori A. McManus, AB'91, and Tena E. Vaughan, AB'91, wear poofy dresses." She notes that McManus works in financial aid at the GSB, while guest Houston L. Patterson, AB'94, helps coordinate special events at the U of C. Medina, AB'91, is education adviser for the Democratic National Committee.

92 College alumni-Lesley F. Kim, AB'92, writes: This month's class notes start with a riddle of sorts. Someone sent me this nice note: "I am currently in my first year of the M.B.A. program at Harvard Business School. After spending two years practicing corporate law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, I decided to go to business school in order to make the transition into the business side of corporate transactions. HBS is a lot of fun and has many very cool people." But the note had no name. So, mystery buffs: The first person to correctly identify our anonymous classmate (other than that classmate him/herself) wins a cool U of C prize. Moving on: I'd like to solicit your thoughts on various topics. If you've never sent in your news, consider sending me your views instead. I'll give you a topic-"My favorite U of C memory is..." Discuss. And now the news: Eric B. Aldrich, AB'92, returned to the U.S. in September 1997 and works as a social worker at the Lower Eastside Family Union in Manhattan. Jennifer L. Barron, AB'92, and Jerome J. Hong, AB'89, MD'93, were married in Washington, DC, in November. Many alumni were in attendance. Jennifer and Jerome live in Chicago, where Jennifer is an attorney and Jerome is finishing his fellowship in hematology/oncology at Northwestern. (This news was to have appeared in the June/98 issue.-Ed.) Anne J. Barthel , AB'92, and Dennis H. Kim, AB'92, live in New York City. Anne is writing a novel and working as a proofreader, and Dennis works for Merrill Lynch in investment banking. Patricia E. Brady, AB'92, teaches English at Our Lady of Tapeyac High School, an inner-city school in Chicago. Patricia also does development work for the school, advises the newspaper, and directed the school play. Another wedding...Faith E. Bugel, AB'92, and David A. Rickard, MBA'97, were married on August 9, 1997. Karin A. Bohrer, AB'93, and Key T. Lee, AB'92, were in the wedding party, and many U of C friends attended. Faith is in her final year at Northwestern Law School, and Dave is a consultant with BCG. Peter Burke, AB'92, completed his Ph.D. in physics at Yale University in September. He is now a postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. Dutch D. Chung, SB'92, earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from MIT, where he did R & D on femtosecond single-shot laser spectroscopy techniques. He now works for the New York intellectual-property law firm of Fish & Neaves as a patent agent. Dutch is also a law school student at Fordham University. Finally, my favorite item of the month comes from Tanwin Chang, AB'92, who reports: "As part of my informal study on the propagation of slang, I have been on a crusade to persuade people to say 'sex-u' when referring to the World Wide Web header www. It has yet to catch on."

93 College alumni-Norman Yung, AB'93, writes: The reunion was a great success, as the class had more than 100 alumni in attendance. As a class, we donated close to $10,000 to the College. Everyone had a really good time. It is not too early to think about our ten-year reunion in 2003. Dean C. Chan, AB'93, graduated from Albany Medical College in May and is starting his residency in family practice at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He doesn't see a Nobel Prize on the horizon, but he looks forward to finding fulfillment in providing excellent and compassionate care to his patients. Albert G. Chou, AB'93, and Kevin D. Fazendeiro, AB'95, have completed their first book on thoroughbred horse racing. They are still looking for a publisher. (They did not pick the winner in the 1998 Kentucky Derby.) She will then attend Harvard to get a Ph.D. in music theory and "hopes to write glorified CD liner notes some day." Erika Ihara, AB'93, is a contract archaeologist in New York and Long Island.
