'Hood's
been hot for a while
What
an odd collection of misinformation and misinterpretation
appeared in John Easton's
"Here Goes the Neighborhood" (June/00).
Hyde
Park has been a strong market for about a generation--he has to
watch his time slots. It is even better today but that is largely
the economy, not [U of C vice president for community affairs]
Hank Webber "saving" it. The article, in fact, sounds
like the typical Highland Parker's idiotic idea that any place
south of McCormick Place is the abomination of desolation. Please
give a little credit to those of us who've lived here for years
and knew a good thing--and had it, too. We "turned the corner"
by the mid-60s and have never looked back.
