Don't cry for me, Argentina
Fourth-year Maria Rodriguez snapped this photo of an Argentine guitarist in San Telmo, the old quarter of Buenos Aires, while completing her Latin American civilization sequence. The image won first place in the College's 2001 study-abroad photo contest. After December's deadly riots and as economic turmoil continues to plague Argentina, the College canceled this winter's Buenos Aires program. Instead, 13 students are getting a taste of the motherland-studying Latin American civilization in the College's Barcelona program.
