Softball
pitcher Kelly Ostler ended her college career with 689 strikeouts,
leading the NCAA Division III in the 2002 season, and ranking
seventh overall. A fourth-year in the College, Ostler is in second
place in the NCAA Division III for career strikeouts per game;
she averaged 10.6. She was also named to the All-Great Lakes Region
and All-America teams.

Chicago
placed second at the UAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The Maroons had 12 individual All-UAA competitors, including
five first-place finishers.
Smart
soccer
Fourth-year
men's soccer midfielder Pat Barry received an NCAA postgraduate
scholarship of $5,000. Barry, a fundamentals concentrator, was
also selected for the Academic All-America, All-America, All-Midwest
Region, and All-UAA teams. He scored 13 goals and had seven
assists in 2001, for a total of 33 points.
Academic
runners
The
Cross Country Coaches Association recognized the Maroon men's
and women's cross country teams as National All-Academic teams
based on the cumulative GPA of each team's roster. Fourth-year
Jerome Tharaud and second-years Tom Haxton and Patrick Sullivan
were also named Academic All-Americans, based on their GPAs
and finishes at the regional meet.

The
baseball team finished its 2002 regular season 13-17. The Maroons
ended a 13-game home winning streak by splitting a doubleheader
with Thomas More College.
