A campus tradition showcasing Chicago students at their best-brainy, quirky, and fun-this year's Scavenger Hunt was won by the Palevsky Commons team. Nine teams tried to find as many of the following items as possible, among 314 others:

16. Design a new kind of pizza. Call it "ScavHunt Item #16" and have it added to the Medici's menu. (68 pts.)

23. Relite Niteline. Judges must be able to call this phone number at any time between 17h00 and 06h00 throughout the Hunt. Phone must be answered in a minimum of two rings with, "Hello, Niteline!" Answerer must be prepared to resolve absolutely any problem the caller might have, and boy do we have problems. Remember to advertise your service to the public. (170 pts.)

31. Passport stamped by all three axes of evil. (333 pts. 33 bonus pts. if it also contains a stamp from an "occupied territory.")

81. Convince at least one member of Metallica that they have been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. (120 pts.)

177. Three members of your team must attend the Blue Man Group performance disguised as your choice of either yellow, green, purple, or orange men. (30 pts. 145 bonus pts. for getting on stage.)

207. Pointillist dandruff art, made from scratch. (76 pts.)

244. A team member with a glass eye, a peg leg, and a gold tooth. (47 pts.)

271. Have a member of the U.S. Congress wish your team best of luck in the "ancient and honorable Scavenger Hunt at the University of Chicago" on the floor of the House. (435 pts. 100 bonus pts. for a Senator. 50 bonus pts. for getting both a Republican and a Democrat. 100 bonus pts. for getting Tom Daschle and Trent Lott or Hillary and Strom to do it.)
