Ah, spring in Hyde Park. The trees are blooming, the parakeets are squawking, the soon-to-be graduates are printing their theses and dissertations. But along with spring comes street-cleaning season, and with street cleaning comes the need to move your car before it gets a ticket.
After spotting several University and neighborhood cars that won't be moving anytime soon-this '77 Chevy Monte Carlo is just one example-Hyde Park resident Benjamin Recchie, AB'03, devised a few U of C-themed parking violations of his own. Summoning both ancient history and modern science, these judgments, rendered for fun, not fines, offer drivers a fresh look at their old rides.
