On September 15 more than 1,000 students moved into new homes away from home. At the Max Palevsky Residential Commons on 56th Street, about 200 first-years became the first residents of Hoover, May, and Alper Houses. Here, as John Daly of Roswell, Georgia, carries boxes back to the car for his daughter, first-year Hoover resident Maire Daly, the residence hall awaited finishing touches: new sheets on the beds, posters on the walls, and, of course, grass.
