The new Max Palevsky Residential Commons, reports University Architect Curt Heuring, contains more than 1 million orange bricks; 4,600 panes of glass; 20,000 square yards of carpet; and more pounds of mortar and gallons of paint (purple and otherwise) than his office was able to track. Landscaping will include 39,000 square feet of sod and 143 shrubs. About 225 construction workers spent 366 working days at the 56th Street site. -
