The play’s the thing

Presenting the classics—Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, for example—or creating a one-of-a-kind comedy—like the Law School musical Dude, Where’s My Laptop?—takes more than a stage and willing players.

Photographer Lloyd DeGrane scouted out some University Theater types and other Chicago thespians breaking a sweat, if not a leg or two. While the house periodically goes dark as cast and crew study up for their recurring roles as students and scholars, after finals have their run the show must go on.
