As Good as Advertised
Long before the Internet and U.S. News & World Report rankings, the 1950s post-Hutchins era University resorted to now antiquated methods of advertising. Like the Lighthouse at Alexandria, this billboard loomed over the corner of South Desplaines and East Harrison streets, in the heart of today’s Greektown, reflecting Chicago’s continuing efforts to apprise the demos of life’s higher pursuits.
