	Completion of campus master plan leads to building boom: This summer saw the publication of the final report of the University of Chicago campus master plan steering committee.
	U of C Press director Morris Philipson retires; construction on new press building begins: With the retirement of longtime director Morris Philipson and a move to a new home, the University of Chicago Press is looking at some big changes over the next two years.
	Search committees formed to select U of C's 12th president: The search for Hugo F. Sonnenschein’s successor as president of the University of Chicago has begun with the selection of trustee and faculty search committees.
	New computer lab added to Crerar library: Construction of a $1-million computing cluster in the south basement of Crerar Library began in September. Scheduled to open in spring 2000, the lab will cover 5,500 square feet and house up to 100 computers.
