Winter
hat couture
If “April is the cruellest month,” then January
and February in Chicago aren’t far behind. Despite
the cold, the snow, the wind, or the ice, Chicago students
have to get to class. So why not express themselves while
doing it? Photographer Lloyd DeGrane captured a flurry of
bundled-up students and styles.
Hoods are popular this season.
Points go to first-year Sarah Rodman for her bold statement.
Although the Magazine was surprised by the number
of open coats, it may be a way to show off one’s outfit
to fellow Chicagoans who might not otherwise see it. And
hats, what would winter be without hats? Points for most
dramatic, with her knee-length chapeau: fourth-year Margaret
Brumann.
