Peace tent
During spring quarter Wes
Pedgen, ‘05, and David Gardner, ‘04, slept in an antiwar
peace-vigil tent on the quads. With minimal provisions—“sleeping
bags and mats, some rope (for banners), maybe a staple gun, and
literature that we pass out,” Pedgen says—they also
kept daytime hours between classes. Although heavy combat in Iraq
ended May 1, they maintained their vigil through June 11.
