As the Magazine continues to expand
its Web site and add to its blog (magazine.uchicago.edu/uchiblogo),
it gets more visits every day. But it’s still not the hottest
page in the University’s domain. The graph shows the five
most-visited U of C pages during the randomly chosen week of October
10–16, 2004. (The Magazine came in tenth.) The Networking
Services and Information Technology (NSIT) announcement page was
third, likely because “there were e-mail problems” that
week and students and staff wanted information, says Arin Komins,
manager of Web systems architecture. Certain popular pages, Komins
notes, such as the business school, the library, and the online
course site Chalk, fall outside NSIT’s purview and weren’t
counted.—A.M.B.
