Welcome to the club: Changes such as a renovated first-floor north lounge (above), and a new second-floor lounge, game room, and coffee shop have turned the 92-year-old Reynolds Club into a student social hub. The Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation gave $1 million to help underwrite the project, completed this fall.

Monster season: Looking like the Midway Monsters of old, this year's varsity football team ended their season with an 8-2 record-the squad's best record since 1905, when they went 10-0. A total of 16 players were named to the All-University Athletic Association team, including freshmen tailback Brandon Way, shown above. This year's undisputed star was senior Derrick Brooms, who caught 42 passes for 896 yards and 13 TDs, and was named UAA offensive player of the year.
